On March 15, 2025, Nzumbi Foundation celebrated a significant milestone by distributing educational bursaries to 150 deserving students from Makueni County, marking our largest bursary program to date.

The Ceremony

The event took place at the Makueni County Hall, attended by students, parents, teachers, and local government officials. The atmosphere was filled with hope and gratitude as students received their awards.

County Education Officer, Mrs. Jane Mwende, commended our efforts: "This initiative by Nzumbi Foundation is transforming lives and ensuring that financial constraints don't hinder academic excellence."

Impact on Students

The bursaries cover school fees, textbooks, uniforms, and other essential educational materials. This support ensures that:

  • Students can complete their academic year without interruption
  • They have access to necessary learning materials
  • Reduced financial stress leads to better academic performance
  • Parents can allocate resources to other household needs

Success Stories

"This bursary came at the right time. I was about to drop out of school due to lack of fees. Now I can continue with my studies and pursue my dream of becoming a doctor."

- Mary Mwende, Form 3 Student

"As a single mother, providing education for my three children was challenging. This support has lifted a huge burden from my shoulders."

- Jane Kamene, Parent
